Meet The Herd

This is a creative and artistic description into the character of each of our horses. “Meet the Herd” was a gift to Mount Moriah Stables by a very talented artist, Emilie Brynteson. Emilie became familiar with our horses through her personal experience with each of them.

We hope you enjoy meeting our horses!

Moriah, a mare of gentle breed,

Of whom I would describe:

As a horse attuned to many who need,

Someone in whom they can confide.

Moriah’s neighbor, Zach, is quite a tale.

His stance does show his glory;

His head is proud, his heart avail!

But now retirement is within his story.

Myles, the Halflinger, of distant relation,

Is a stout and sturdy boy.

Quite the handsome fellow, he is indeed.

For a treat or two, he does enjoy.

Mia, the quiet and love bug of sorts,

Enjoys a hearty, good scratch.

She has a darling coat of caramel brown,

And a pretty face with a white splash.

A little nosy, but also reserved,

The lady Drea seems to be.

With a graceful canter and wild soul,

She’s a wonder of a mare, most can agree.

A dash of salt and a sprinkle of pepper,

Is one way to paint dear Smoke.

He’s quite the eye-catcher of a lady’s man,

A handsomely dappled sentimental bloke.

Right next to him, lives a flirtatious girl.

Miss Lily is quite a prissy thing.

Sweet are her eyes, and tender her heart,

A lot of love she does commit to bring.

And lastly of eight, there resides our Momma.

A kindly horse, with a little sass.

As Lily’s roommate, she can be quite a hoot.

But she’s a noble walk for an aging lass.
